But we see a whole lot of different kinds of new forms of deepening integration across wider Europe with the EU.

Many countries, including Canada, which is remote geographically, but very much like minded with the EU.

They're signing new deals.

They're going into new areas of cooperation, especially on security and defence, because, of course, they're all concerned about what happens with NATO in the US.

Right.

And I think that's key because it shifts that burden, as I've said, of migration from the individual back on to the collective, right? And so then we need to work out the political ways to distribute these kinds of shared responsibility.

But at its heart, I'm trying to remind us that this is a tool of advocacy, whether we're making a legal claim or we're advocates in the Pacific Islands that Cooperation is a legal obligation.

It's not a matter of aid or assistance that is something that we're doing out of the good of our own hearts.

And then we can bring in those arguments about systemic problems, colonial problems, and see this as a form, a reparative form of reparations.
