Congrats to Fox Racing on one hell of a weekend in Columbus.

Looking down here, Webb made big improvements for Moto2.

He was in a similar third-fourth sort of realm in Moto1, but a couple of mistakes that hindered him.

But going from ninth to third in the second Moto is, I think, good enough, pertinent, something that should be acknowledged.

Friday practice is also irrelevant because it's free practice and so many riders refer to it as press day but you really can't tell who is putting an emphasis on the times but I do feel like I saw a bit of spark out of Koop and based on his comments leading into SMX I do think it's a priority for him to win this thing so whilst Branson will be his weaker event of the three I do believe LA we could be on for a Cooper Webb win or certainly a Cooper Webb impact on the race for the win

no I do agree with that and again with this format he's only four points four points out of it the first double points round of course being well the only double points around sorry then it goes to triple yeah I it's again back to almost what we stay at the beginning the first round gives you an idea of what's going on but it is interesting again with the way the seated points work web is ahead of Kenny in this thing already I So Roxen really needs like a double points round like next weekend, arguably to get at least level with a Hayden or a Jorge, depending on how they finish with him, where with Webb, just that little bit of difference actually could catapult him right into the points lead with a really good performance next weekend.

Also, I know he's going to Team USA, but Cooper Webb loves money.

It's going to be really hard, as I mentioned, to replace Eli Tomac in this sport.

yes but luckily they don't have to replace him yet the fans will still get to see him for these three playoff rounds and one other cool note my guy james stewart says now that eli isn't trying to wrestle with this decision he thinks he'll probably ride better and he did ride better at iron man james predicted that he's like i think he already knows and he's going to be better today and that was the best we saw him ride in this comeback maybe we'll see some podiums from eli in the playoffs that'd be awesome podium for this guy, the send-off for Cooper Webb.

How funny is it? I feel like Hunter Lawrence was more just drained emotionally and relief and wasn't full celebration mode.

An alien who is standing there watching the podium would have thought that Cooper Webb won the title.

He was the happiest guy, I believe, by far on the podium this weekend when he made it back one more time.

Yeah, I've been so fortunate to be near Cooper Webb in some huge moments.

None of those bigger than when he won the 2025 Monster Duty Supercross Championship, his third, which you could tell he wasn't sure he was ever getting a third.

And you simply couldn't wipe the smile off his face.

Remember that he did not win a single normal Supercross, which justifies his classification as a good surprise.

I think Cooper Webb will be much more impactful than he was in Supercross, which would technically go against the grain of his stereotypical skill set.

What about... is it mostly because we're having like in essence, three super crosses without whoops, that gives you a little bit more hope that web could be good at this stuff.

I yeah, I'm not saying he's going to win the whole thing, but He hasn't won an SMX race yet, so maybe he gets one of those.

Well, I'm going to be the antithesis to you here as we go to our next topic, which is biggest flop.

And for me in the 450 class, I was going to pick Cooper Webb.

He's a third seed in SMX.

Maybe you have, uh, but riders that have changed manufacturers, teams, teams is another thing because riders do that all the time, but change manufacturers and change things like, um, steel, 12, a medium frame suspension, you know, um, just the whole package.

Can you think of anyone that's really done it so emphatically like this, you know, in the last sort of 10 years? Uh, if you think of Eli Tomac, um, goodness, uh, Cooper Webb.

Um, I'm not too sure there's, there's many, uh, for example, right.

Jeffrey Hurlings has won every single Grand Prix, every single championship, every single race he started has been on a Red Bull KTM on a two 50 on a four 50, you know, the motocross nations, he wrote a three 50, uh, and he'd achieved all of that.

So he, 100% jumped out of his comfort zone, his nest, everything he knows, everything he can reference motocross with and, uh, went into a different environment and made it work.

So that's, uh, that's, there's something else I think we have to applaud.

Yeah, perhaps the greatest parallel to this is Cooper Webb going from Yamaha to KTM and then winning the Supercross title in his first attempt because it is a Japanese to Austrian switch.

And Hurley's would probably quite like that comparison because we know that he has a bit of a soft spot.
