Congrats to Fox Racing on one hell of a weekend in Columbus.
L
31:48Lewis PhillipsHOST
Looking down here, Webb made big improvements for Moto2.
L
31:51Lewis PhillipsHOST
He was in a similar third-fourth sort of realm in Moto1, but a couple of mistakes that hindered him.
L
31:58Lewis PhillipsHOST
But going from ninth to third in the second Moto is, I think, good enough, pertinent, something that should be acknowledged.
L
32:05Lewis PhillipsHOST
I do think that...
L
32:07Lewis PhillipsHOST
Friday practice is also irrelevant because it's free practice and so many riders refer to it as press day but you really can't tell who is putting an emphasis on the times but I do feel like I saw a bit of spark out of Koop and based on his comments leading into SMX I do think it's a priority for him to win this thing so whilst Branson will be his weaker event of the three I do believe LA we could be on for a Cooper Webb win or certainly a Cooper Webb impact on the race for the win
M
32:39Michael LindsayHOST
no I do agree with that and again with this format he's only four points four points out of it the first double points round of course being well the only double points around sorry then it goes to triple yeah I it's again back to almost what we stay at the beginning the first round gives you an idea of what's going on but it is interesting again with the way the seated points work web is ahead of Kenny in this thing already I So Roxen really needs like a double points round like next weekend, arguably to get at least level with a Hayden or a Jorge, depending on how they finish with him, where with Webb, just that little bit of difference actually could catapult him right into the points lead with a really good performance next weekend.
L
33:24Lewis PhillipsHOST
Yeah, without doubt.

Yeah.
W
5:55Will SheldonHOST
I will say, still my favorite rider is Cooper Webb right now, currently.
O
5:59Orey WoodsHOST
So does that mean you're Yamaha or KTM?
W
6:01Will SheldonHOST
No, just Cooper Webb.
W
6:02Will SheldonHOST
He's going Husky.
O
6:03Orey WoodsHOST
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
O
6:05Orey WoodsHOST
Not KTM.
O
6:05Orey WoodsHOST
Sorry.
Exhaust #338: 2026 SMX Playoffs Preview Show
J
30:45Jason WeigandtHOST
Something to cheer for.
S
30:46Steve MatthesHOST
Also, I know he's going to Team USA, but Cooper Webb loves money.
S
30:50Steve MatthesHOST
He mentions the million dollars a lot when it comes to SMX.
S
30:54Steve MatthesHOST
Got to think he's motivated.
S
31:28Steve MatthesHOST
You're right.
S
31:28Steve MatthesHOST
He does do that, and you're probably right.
J
31:32Jason ThomasHOST
supercross track with no whoops is not the worst setup in the world for a cooper webb performance
S
31:36Steve MatthesHOST
no
Season 4 Episode 34 | ProMotocross Season In Review Show
J
28:21Jason ThomasHOST
It's going to be really hard, as I mentioned, to replace Eli Tomac in this sport.
J
28:26Jason WeigandtHOST
yes but luckily they don't have to replace him yet the fans will still get to see him for these three playoff rounds and one other cool note my guy james stewart says now that eli isn't trying to wrestle with this decision he thinks he'll probably ride better and he did ride better at iron man james predicted that he's like i think he already knows and he's going to be better today and that was the best we saw him ride in this comeback maybe we'll see some podiums from eli in the playoffs that'd be awesome podium for this guy, the send-off for Cooper Webb.
J
28:55Jason WeigandtHOST
How funny is it? I feel like Hunter Lawrence was more just drained emotionally and relief and wasn't full celebration mode.
J
29:03Jason WeigandtHOST
An alien who is standing there watching the podium would have thought that Cooper Webb won the title.
J
29:07Jason WeigandtHOST
He was the happiest guy, I believe, by far on the podium this weekend when he made it back one more time.
J
29:12Jason ThomasHOST
Yeah, I've been so fortunate to be near Cooper Webb in some huge moments.
J
29:17Jason ThomasHOST
None of those bigger than when he won the 2025 Monster Duty Supercross Championship, his third, which you could tell he wasn't sure he was ever getting a third.
J
29:25Jason ThomasHOST
And you simply couldn't wipe the smile off his face.
Season 4 Episode 35 | Columbus Playoff Review
J
32:37Jason WeigandtHOST
That is going to make him dangerous.
J
32:38Jason WeigandtHOST
Cooper Webb, third.
J
32:40Jason WeigandtHOST
He will be dangerous also.
J
32:41Jason WeigandtHOST
Jet Lawrence got himself to fourth in the rankings.
Episode 37; The American rambles on (again)
J
7:25JustinHOST
Top five.
J
7:26JustinHOST
And this was, uh, fucking basket case of a top five Prado won RJ Hampshire got second overall Cooper Webb decided to let everyone know that he's he's still he's bracing a pro MX and Hunter and Eli Eli with a top five overall in his last pro motocross race of his career.
J
7:48JustinHOST
And let's talk about that.
J
7:50JustinHOST
So we were told, and all the signs were showing that Eli was going to race next season, just indoors only.
Leatt presents: LVK: More Than Moto "Playoff Preview"
L
11:37Lewis PhillipsHOST
Remember that he did not win a single normal Supercross, which justifies his classification as a good surprise.
L
11:47Lewis PhillipsHOST
I think Cooper Webb will be much more impactful than he was in Supercross, which would technically go against the grain of his stereotypical skill set.
K
11:59Kellen BrauerHOST
Okay.
K
12:01Kellen BrauerHOST
What about... is it mostly because we're having like in essence, three super crosses without whoops, that gives you a little bit more hope that web could be good at this stuff.
L
12:28Lewis PhillipsHOST
I yeah, I'm not saying he's going to win the whole thing, but He hasn't won an SMX race yet, so maybe he gets one of those.
K
12:36Kellen BrauerHOST
Well, I'm going to be the antithesis to you here as we go to our next topic, which is biggest flop.
K
12:40Kellen BrauerHOST
And for me in the 450 class, I was going to pick Cooper Webb.
K
12:44Kellen BrauerHOST
He's a third seed in SMX.

7:55Adam WheelerHOST
Maybe you have, uh, but riders that have changed manufacturers, teams, teams is another thing because riders do that all the time, but change manufacturers and change things like, um, steel, 12, a medium frame suspension, you know, um, just the whole package.
A
8:13Adam WheelerHOST
Can you think of anyone that's really done it so emphatically like this, you know, in the last sort of 10 years? Uh, if you think of Eli Tomac, um, goodness, uh, Cooper Webb.
A
8:25Adam WheelerHOST
Um, I'm not too sure there's, there's many, uh, for example, right.
A
8:29Adam WheelerHOST
Jeffrey Hurlings has won every single Grand Prix, every single championship, every single race he started has been on a Red Bull KTM on a two 50 on a four 50, you know, the motocross nations, he wrote a three 50, uh, and he'd achieved all of that.
A
8:44Adam WheelerHOST
So he, 100% jumped out of his comfort zone, his nest, everything he knows, everything he can reference motocross with and, uh, went into a different environment and made it work.
A
8:57Adam WheelerHOST
So that's, uh, that's, there's something else I think we have to applaud.
L
9:01Lewis PhillipsHOST
Yeah, perhaps the greatest parallel to this is Cooper Webb going from Yamaha to KTM and then winning the Supercross title in his first attempt because it is a Japanese to Austrian switch.
L
9:12Lewis PhillipsHOST
And Hurley's would probably quite like that comparison because we know that he has a bit of a soft spot.
Jett Lawrence's injury opens up SMX playoffs for Hunter and others.
R
13:25Ricky CarmichaelHOST
It sucks that it had to be that way, you know, but.
R
13:29Ricky CarmichaelHOST
like do that i just i'm bummed for hunter because that guy wrote his ass off and he showed up every single weekend i think him and cooper webb for sure are there's probably another rider and i'm probably missing and sorry to whoever i'm missing uh but those are the only two like those are the two guys that i know that made every single round and as you know rv dude that's hard to do to just make every round ain't a lot of dudes in the paddock did that this year
R
13:56Ryan VillopotoHOST
Yep, yep, you're right.
R
13:57Ryan VillopotoHOST
It's a long season, and we got three more coming up here at SMX Mountains, buddy.
13 MINS LATER
R
26:56Ricky CarmichaelHOST
Yeah,
R
26:57Ryan VillopotoHOST
yeah, yeah, yeah.
R
26:58Ryan VillopotoHOST
For sure, Cooper Webb, right? Another dude retiring from outdoors, but not Supercross, right? He's going to go Supercross only.
R
27:05Ryan VillopotoHOST
We know that the first two rounds, like we had just talked about, right, RC? Yeah.
The Ricky & Robb Podcast - Ep. 17 (MXGP - MXDN - SMX Preview)
R
26:46RobbHOST
But the way it looks going in, momentum is on both of these boys' side.
R
26:50RobbHOST
And I just don't think you can ever count out Cooper Webb.
R
26:53RobbHOST
Nothing seems to faze him.
R
26:55RobbHOST
I mean, ironically, we're talking about Tomac, right? And what did Webb say when it was coming at the end of the championship? He gets into the gate next to Tomac.
