Cookie Queens

Yeah, and you're involved this year with another film that's about young people, more hopeful, but also about the human spirit.

And I'm talking about Cookie Queens, which is about girls involved in selling Girl Scout cookies and how it's really about the entrepreneurial spirit of developing that in girls who really become responsible for selling, in some cases, gigantic quantities

of Girl Scout cookies.

I forget how many tens of hundreds of millions of dollars of these cookies are sold, but that's directed by Alyssa Namias, who's a wonderful filmmaker.

Just wonderful to be there.

Next week on DocTalk, we're going to be speaking with James Costa, a producer and executive producer of many award-winning documentaries, including several Oscar contenders this year, like Closure, The Bend and the River, Brie Leonard Peltier, and Cookie Queens.

Among his other credits are Welcome to Chechnya, Queendom, and Sara Bareilles' Good Grief, which premiered earlier this year.

James, very importantly to me and to Deadline, also chooses the films that screen as part of Deadline's For the Love of Docs series.
