Context

Sure, and I think that is why I asked it, because I think that part is as important as anything.

If he's passing up threes, Context matters for sure.

But I do think that I'm just imagining, okay, he's getting cross-matched and they're kind of helping off of him a little bit.

If he catches it and he doesn't feel, I'm not going to say comfortable, but he doesn't feel in rhythm to take that, you have Miles, you have Devin, you have Jalen, you have Dylan on the court with you.

When we got our first set of investors, not a single investor intro was made for our first 10 customers, which is extremely unusual.

Our reason for it was because we were searching for truth, not traction.

How did you find your first 10 customers?

A large bank is gonna be very different than a small startup in the Bay Area, right? Uh, and so how do you-

Uh, I remember when at Atlan we, we, um, our series A blog post said, uh, we wanna be the context layer for the modern data stack.

Uh, and then in 20, uh, 25, we wrote this, uh, uh, blog that said, in the dawn of the internet era, uh, you know, content is king is something Bill Gates said, and we believe in the AI world context is going to be king.

And we tran- we scaled the company from doing context for data science and machine learning and analytics use cases to all kinds of agentic use cases, which really started becoming a thing after the reasoning model dropped.

Um, and, uh, yeah, this, it feels very surreal because, uh, now it feels like the entire world is listening and, you know, we have this, it- massive opportunity to go solve some of the biggest problems that companies are gonna face over the next decade.

Well, obviously I don't know how much of it is in, in real life and how much is online, but, um, uh, but I obviously know that it, it exists, obviously the sexism both in, in a Japanese context, but also in, in, in American con- context.

It's like I, I know there are people who get angry at the fact that they have to bag their own groceries sometimes.

So I'm saying, well, I mean, I, for you probably felt, I don't know if you feel, I, I'm just saying I'm not trying to open up a can of worms, but like I know, I kn- I, I know s- you know, I, I feel like a lot of the elderly I've met or the worker officials or in a Japanese context, you know, are very old guy.

So you and I are, and I mean this with all due respect, you and I are idiots compared to him when it comes to his, Context clues and evidence on whether or not we can go there.

So me, because I'm not a genius.

If this is exactly how they're thinking, if they don't question context, if they don't have those critical thinking skills.

And that's just the way that the National Party wants to keep them, because if they think critically, then they start asking and answering questions like, why? Why should I bother? Why should I vote for them? yeah it frustrates me i'm going to leave it at that it's 11 o'clock at night i have to get up for coffee and context in the morning which to be fair is at 10 o'clock in the morning it's not exactly early um but if you hear this before then come along and watch and if you hear this after then you can come along and still watch but it won't be live so the interactions will be less than they are because i don't interact much on things after they've already gone out Yeah.

Also, this is the last Coffee in Context for a couple of weeks because I am off to Otepoti this weekend, next weekend, to do the BHN education debate, which should be fascinating.

Lots of stuff to get done down there.

I'm actually kind of happy because two of my favorite MPs that I know personally are going to be there.
