And speaking of Congress, Barb, in a related matter, the House of Representatives voted on September 16th to hold the billionaire investor Leon Black in criminal contempt of Congress for defying subpoenas that are related to the investigation into Jeffrey Epstein.

That means Republicans voted for this along with Democrats.

I mean— Is this for real? Remind us about who Black is and tell us what is at stake here.

He thought that would give him a break and he wouldn't have to testify.

Not so fast, Leon, because you know what Congress did today? Congress today found him in contempt of Congress.

That's a serious crime.

Contempt of Congress.

And you're probably saying to yourself, well, he'll get his due.

He'll get his proper accountability.

So you guys may have seen people saying Fauci was held in contempt of Congress or even claiming that he has been charged and could be going to jail.

So that is not where this stands right now.

On August 6th, the Republican led Senate Homeland Security Committee And governmental affairs committee voted 8-5 along party lines to approve a resolution holding Fauci in contempt of Congress.

Right.

What were your thoughts about the, the, the Epstein files and 3 million pages being released and, you know, now we are hearing that Bill and Hillary Clinton have both agreed to testify, uh, in, in, in the House ahead, you know, uh, ahead of the Contempt of Congress vote? What are your thoughts about that?

[laughs] Well, I mean, this is certainly something we were talking in my meeting today about what I'm gonna talk about on the show-

Jacob Prash, any thought, Jacob, on the US Senate panel voting today on Fauci and contempt of Congress? The vote was 8-7.

They already filed paperwork with the DOJ.

to perhaps maybe he's going to jail and pursue criminal contempt.

Nobody would like to see Fauci in federal prison more than me, if he can be correctly convicted.

Yeah.

However, I'm reminded that Eric Holder, who was in contempt of Congress, was not even prosecuted.

It's going to carry the, if not stigma, certainly the air of a politically targeted prosecution, whether that is a valid assessment or not.

Suddenly, compliance would matter.

Contempt would matter.

Suddenly, nobody would be standing around wondering whether enforcing the subpoena might be a little too confrontational.

Yet when the man on the other side of the table is a billionaire who paid Jeffrey Epstein $158 million, Congress appears to need a fucking strategy meeting to decide whether its own subpoenas mean anything.
