Contemporary dance

You know? And, uh, and so for dancers, it's very, very hard, you know, to get to used to this kind of life.

And for me, luckily, I branch out into become a contemporary dance.

Because I always have a thirst of evolving and trying to ha- multitasking and trying to, uh, branch myself and find different ways to connect with an audience, being through books, being through choreographies, et cetera.

Um, I, I branch, I discover contemporary dance early on, and I had the necessity already in my 30s to work with contemporary choreographer.

'Cause I knew the local evolution from a classical dancer was towards contemporary dance.

Mm.

That's, that's where the freedom lies, freedom for exploring, and that is what, uh, you could just find your own way to connect beyond the boundaries of the ballet vocabulary.

And so by the time I retired from the Royal Opera House in 2015, I already have a contemporary company established in Cuba called Acosta Danza-
