Happy Halloween, everyone! Today I'm joined by co-host Chris Fafalios to break down the writing, recording, and lyrical interpretation of the Alice Cooper single, He's Back, The Man Behind the Mask, taken from both his 1986 full-length album Constrictor, as well as the movie soundtrack for Friday the 13th Part 6, Jason Lives.

The 80s were a strange period for Alice, and this song is for sure a head scratcher.

It's not... unrealistic i mean we've had oh yeah d snyder we've had huey lewis we've had people of alice's stature or whatever i think that there's a chance we could get him at some point but i think we could still do this episode chris because i do not think if we got alice cooper to come on the show that we would be talking about he's back the man behind the mask

No, this probably would not be the go-to track, Chris, and I think we're going to have more fun doing it together.

The song was the lead single from his ninth solo album, Constrictor, in 1986.

So he was well into his career, 15, 16 years at this point, kind of lost.

And hey, I don't know if I love the demonization of homeless people, but I'm pretty sure I love that Alice Cooper is in this movie.

The year prior, Alice had a song in the Friday the 13th Part 6 soundtrack and was in the middle of an album cycle for Constrictor and Raise Your Fist and Yell that included a big horror movie stage show reminiscent of the Welcome to My Nightmare tour with some of his most ambitious special effects and just made sense to put him in a horror movie.

They even used one of his stage effects for Kill in this movie.

To join his band, and that's who his fucking band was in 86 for Constrictor.
