And a Republican candidate hopes Summit County voters choose to shake up Democratic leadership in the county clerk's office.

KPCW's Connor Thomas reports the incumbent bills herself as more experienced.

Sonny Wolstenhulme and Melina Stevens went head-to-head on election issues during KPCW's local news hour Friday morning.

The candidates for Summit County Clerk addressed partisanship and the previous clerk's controversial decision to reject a slew of signatures for a citizen referendum last year.

I think that's a misunderstanding that my opponent has as far as how the clerk's office operates.

The full segment is available at kpcw.org. And the general election is November 3rd.

And in studio with me, I have Youth Sports Alliance Development Director, Ashley Loxo, and Youth Program Director, Heather Sims, to talk a little bit about after-school programs and upcoming events.

Mickey was scoring goals that season, Nevitt was banging them in.

Connor Thomas was a big player for us.

We had loads of good players and I think we had a few injuries around the centre of the pitch, down the spine.

I felt like we were winning games comfortably and we were just running over teams, dominating teams.

And obviously Lee, which was obviously a big thing when Lee got the job, he knew I could play midfield because I wasn't really going to play midfield for Daniel Artel.

And he kind of knew the attributes that I'd bring to midfield and how he is as a player he was.

kind of how I like to play and he was aggressive on the front foot and he's quite all action isn't he and yeah and I think obviously when I come into the team and in midfield he liked it and I think me playing there Connor Thomas as well we're both quite Connor Thomas is quite a similar player on the front foot like winning tackles and I think me and him in there midfield it was difficult for a lot of teams when we were playing together in there to kind of get through us and we just got on top of teams and yeah I enjoyed it I enjoy playing in the back as well like I love playing in the back, but yeah, I enjoy playing midfield as well.

Who stands out in your memory as some of the key players? I think crew fans will probably look fondly on Elliot Nevitt that season with the goals he was scoring.

Time now is 8:06.

I'm Connor Thomas filling in for Roger Goldman on the local news hour this morning.

It's 36 degrees in Park City.
