Connor Ronan

Um, obviously Malua has, you know, has caught, done some eye catching things for us.

Um, as, as the goalkeeper, um, you know, Connor Ronan has shown bits of ability to us.

Arimu, we spoke last week about how much Arimu is capable of doing.

We obviously have Richard's man, Tony Yogan.

I think it must be the most deflating thing to happen for, you know, any team coming out from 1-0 down.

had the team talk from the manager you've had the rally you know look to turn things around the second half and like within seconds 2-0 down um and yeah we'll say that um kind of similar what Martin was saying beforehand where you're not necessarily saying just shoot from anywhere and again it was absolutely an area that you would expect Connor Ronan to be taking a an effort from but it let's be realistic it is one of those games where absolutely everything that could have went our way went our way because how many times does that shot get deflected off defender and it goes harmlessly away for a corner or indeed just kind of deflects out away from the danger area but fortunately for us it takes a fortuitous ricochet wrong foot's the goalkeeper in the back of the net and While I don't think any of us are taking Aberdeen's ability to say out a 2-0 lead in any circumstances for granted.

We've seen that go wrong on more than one occasion in recent history as well.

It absolutely puts you in the box seat at that point.

I mean, again, a lot of assists and a lot of goals for Arbroath.

And I think it's noticeable that certainly more so in the Hibs game, he was being trusted with some of the corner kicks and set pieces.

So again, you know, in a team that Connor Ronan is playing in and would have, you know, I'd have thought, predominantly thought of as being your kind of main set piece taker.

That's something that Finlay Marshall's now been trusted with as well.

Across the middle, Chris Cadden, formerly of Hibs, and he could take on twin brother Nicky today.

Then it's Conor Ronan, Afeez Aremu, Finlay Marshall, and Nestor Guinness-Walker.

And up top, Nisbet is partnered by Tayose Olusanya.

Absolutely not Halftime 1-0 the Dons with Lewis Mayo having been booked in the first half the manager clearly was in no mood for a similar calamity that we saw at the weekends where Jack Milne was introduced for Lewis Mayo at the break and we get off to a dream start as well second half Motherwell playing the ball around from kick-off, we set the trap, we get the press spot on, and it's the first time I think we've seen us do this under Robinson at all that we've been able to get this working correctly.

Marshall springs in to intercept a loose pass, feeds it to Nisbet, into Ronan, I think his effort's going goal-bound anyway.

Maybe it's going down the goalie's throat, not too sure.

It's a good hit on it, though.

Suddenly, we're 2-0 up, and we've doubled our season's goal tally in the league as well within 46 minutes.

Suddenly, football looks like an easy sport all of a sudden.

almost but yeah really really good from Marshall and also good continues the run and actually is available for a pass from Ronan if he decided to take it I agree with you I think the keeper is probably getting that certainly on target the deflection isn't a great big wild deflection that completely wrong foots the keeper or catches him off guard I think he's probably catching that Or in the modern days, probably parrying that.

But the deflection helps.

Quite the night for the Dons.

Gavin Malloy, their defender, got things underway with a brilliant strike from distance in the first half, and then seconds after the interval, Connor Ronan from midfield got in on the act, cracking in a good shot from the edge of the area.

Took a big deflection past Paulson, stranded in the Motherwell goal.

Then substitute, new Moroccan striker Ayoub El Kaabi arrowed one into the top right-hand corner.

Some of the goals, Malloy's goal's fantastic, El Kaabi's goal's fantastic.

And Kevin Nisbet, it's just typical striker's finish.

Uh, Connor Ronan's one obviously takes a, a wicked deflection.

But listen, I'll, I, I, I am a stickler for possession-based football.

So they just maybe caught between two stools and maybe it'll work out, but it doesn't look like it.

So, yeah, I thought Aberdeen, I think Aberdeen probably see this game out relatively straightforwardly if it's not for this ending off because obviously they won the lap at that time given this we had a couple of good headers in this game but the really good header for the goal obviously and nice cross from Connor Ronan that's the kind of So that's the kind of quality that I was maybe expecting Roden to bring to this Aberdeen team when they signed him in the summer.
