Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss, strapping identical twins, and their partner, Divya Narendra, were Harvard seniors with an idea called Harvard Connection, later renamed ConnectU.

Their concept, an exclusive social network for Harvard students, a way to connect and date within elite college circles.

Lacking Mark's coding prowess, in late 2003, they approached the talented sophomore for help.
