Connaught Place

I was mouna all the time I was there working with a chalkboard.

And I went all around Connaught Place doing my thing in American Express and BOAC and Public Health and all this stuff.

And I had to get some money for it, for some thangkas that were being reproduced.

And around 2:00 in the afternoon, I wanted to have a meal.

On the footpath in Greater Kailash, Roma's dreams are bigger.

If you go to Luton's Delhi, right, if you go to Indiagate, if you go to Connaught Place, if you go to the really extremely posh area where the president and all the MPs live, they are beautiful, they are well-maintained, they have plants on both sides, there are no potholes, they are not broken, they're not damaged.

You can easily walk and enjoy the sights.

So why can't we do the same thing all over the city? Why only neta, politicians, rich people get to enjoy that privilege of clean, beautiful, nice footpath? We should also get that, right? Why are you getting that good footpath? So if you can do it there, then you can do it here too.

You're walking in Delhi and you have these banners.

Outside, in the center of the city, you have this huge market, which is from the colonial era, but it's called Connaught Place, but it's probably the busiest market.

The British Council is there and on the other side of the street, yesterday while passing, what I noticed was that there was this one of these banners and what do we have here? America's game, football.

And like nobody watches tackle football or the NFL.

And then we had an Ask Your Grandparents section where we actually interviewed a lot of grandmothers.

It was very interesting to see what grandmothers had to say about So there, you know, we had somebody talking about Connaught Place.

She described very visually how her husband would take her out for a morning walk in Connaught Place.

And she's describing to us Connaught Place of 40 years ago.

And it

was not just, you know, us reading this Connaught Place from 40 years ago.

But it was also listening to her and thinking to ourselves that, you know, the way we perceive public space or the city

has also changed.

Delhi Police Commissioner Anurag Kumar has asked the intelligence wing of the force to expand its information gathering efforts and to collect at least ten specific pieces of intelligence ahead of every planned protest.

Sources said the directive was issued earlier this month after the protests at Jantar Mantar and Connaught Place in July saw a much bigger turnout than anticipated, exposing gaps in the intelligence collection.

The Indian Express' Sakshi Chand reported that the police was caught flat-footed on twentieth of July when at least fifty thousand young people hit the streets in the heart of Delhi and tried to march to Parliament to press their demands for education reform.

Violent clashes followed, and the massive use of tear gas and lathis against the protesters was widely criticized.
