Congress Theater

what she said.

So they, I mean, it was, Less Than Jake, I haven't seen them since they played at the Congress Theater, which is no longer around, just an iconic theater in Chicago.

And Less Than Jake was just awesome.

The same stupid jokes that they always make and just the ska energy that needs to come back from the underground.

And they did an amazing job.

Second time I saw them was in Chicago at, I believe Humboldt park when ride fest had that year, that it was the first year of being an outdoor kind of festival when they moved it away from the, uh, Congress theater.

They still had shows there, but it was like after party shows, whereas now it's outside a million different things.

And I gotta say, I was a little bit disappointed with that one.

The first time I saw the Menzinger's, I want to say.

It was at Riot Fest.

It was when it was at the Congress Theater still, and it was awesome.

I kind of miss that style of Riot Fest where there's one theater, one stage, band plays, band leaves, a band comes on, a band plays.

Uh, so I got to go back home and, and [laughs] uh, which is I'm from Chicago originally, and so I, I got to go back home and, uh, they did a show.

Uh, the Congress Theater, which was right down the street from where I went to college, which was really cool.

But I was just shadowing.

Mm-hmm.

art.

I've been talking to my wife about the Congress Theater because it closed before we met.

Yeah.

We met in 04.

Famously, they rose so fast out of Des Moines that they didn't even play the Metro.

In 2000, they played the Congress Theater.

It's amazing that building is still standing.

It wasn't standing well then.
