Conformity

She says, quote, conformist adults actually relish the dependency that group membership bestows.

It provides safety in numbers and a new sense of power The self is defined by and generated by the expectations and values of those others to whom one belongs.

Conformists tend to accept norms without introspection or questioning.

Their cognitive world is divided into simple categories and types of people, mostly based on external distinctions.

Also interesting is how other is defined, because I sort of said there that the identity, like the self and the in-group, that boundary is very blurry and fused.

That's an idea.

It doesn't necessarily have to define what I do.

But at Conformist, it really does.

He creates loveliness out of what the world.

There is someone just like me in the shadows.

There is a beacon of stars.

But it is a preconceived notion, and they only need to hear a few specks of evidence to conform and believe.

They are easily convinced by a few tidbits of information from leading homers, leading haters, and other conformists.

Conformists can be the blind leading the blind when they continue to spread bad information after they have been convinced by small amounts of information.

Now, different from homers and the haters, the conformists are quite common because they're looking for information that helps them rationalize their world.

So they are very easily subject to misinformation, disinformation, or malinformation.

It influences and shapes your entire character.

Which is exactly why Paul in Romans 12 says, Conformity is passive.

It's what happens to you when you don't resist it.

Transformation is active.
