And just because something feels right doesn't mean it's truly correct, because as inventive and smarty pants as we may be, our cognition often leads us astray in all kinds of ways.

For instance, we often look for and favor evidence that verifies our ideas, while we're more likely to avoid or ignore contradictory evidence, a tendency known as confirmation bias.

Or environmentalists trying to stop fish stocking and why is that bad? You probably don't consciously think, I am now going to engage in a psychological concept called confirmation bias, which is I'm going to look for the things that I'm already looking for.

Easiest concept of this is you get a new car and it's white and all of a sudden you see white cars everywhere.

So one is emphasizing preservation and the other is emphasizing access to the land.

But each person can come to experience their conclusion as simply what a reasonable person would believe.

And this is where I think it helps to understand confirmation bias.
