Compton's Most Wanted

usually very West Coast, like overtly West Coast.

Through his career with Compton's Most Wanted, it was, yes, West Coast style of production.

East Coast inspired, but with the West Coast flavor, right? But then later on, you start hearing MC8 doing shit on top of East Coast style production with Premiere, with Pete Rock, with Muggs.

And you hear a whole different side of my man, right? And he's doing more of that style shit right now.

I'm going to tap in with Homie Shield real quick, man.

You know, the Homie Shield from CMW just touched me down, man.

Absolutely.

I'm going to call my nigga real quick, man, because I'm about to start having him...

I let you go, bro, Dog got one more

question.

Yo, The Chill, for people who don't know, what role did you play in CMW?

He said, well, bro, I paid a CMW.

No, but it's also when we talk about, you know, the things that you consume and if they're going to leave things behind, especially if you don't have anything to counterbalance those things.

Like, Look, I am somebody I loved watching Robocop and the Terminator and listening to NWA and Compton's Most Wanted and all those things.

But it didn't counterbalance the things that my coaches might say to me.

Some of the things that my teachers or the fact that, you know, I could do all that.

And basically, from there, I was able to meet Lonzo and Unknown and DJ Slip.

And then that's how Compton's Most Wanted got started.

We listened to Johnny Taylor.

We listened to Millie Jackson, Bobby Blue Bland.

He was making mixtapes.

My DJ, Mike T, you know, who had got a hold of one of his early mixtapes, you know, and he had a couple of disses on there.

He was talking about Compton's Most Wanted and NWA and whatever.

I really didn't pay any attention to it, you know, because at that time, I was going on my second album.

...

Mike T.

My boy Mike T. passed away today, so you...

Anybody who's a, a loyal CMW fan know Mike T.'s been around.

You know, he was a significant DJ, you know, uh, lended a hand on production on some of significant CMW songs, was in every video.

We toured together.

You know, uh, I started my, uh, you know, I started my CMW shit with Mike T.

When we first started the group, everybody know it was another DJ involved, dude named Ant.

Wow.

Compton's Most Wanted.

This Is Compton.

No freaking way.

You almost made me lose it.

Compton's Most Wanted Music to Drive By, Scarface, The Diary.

A lot of albums, man.

Yeah, it is.
