Competitive dance

And that was really my first exposure on stage.

And at a very young age, six or seven is when I started dance competitions or competing.

And at that time, it was just like me and all the gimmicks that you can imagine of all the costumes and things like that.

So I think there was there was something definitely planted as far as, you know, the showmanship of it and musicality and just being in front of an audience.

When you win a competition like that, what's the aftermath? What are the, what things come to you, or is it just rinse and repeat, you do it again, you do it again, you do it again to prove that you're the best?

[smacks lips] The dancing world, the competitive dance world, is not that big.

So all the dancers in that competitive world know you.

They wanna approach you.

Um, a lesson with a teacher that might judge you in the future can be around 300, $400 45 minutes.

So in order to get somewhere, you don't need to just be a great dancer, you need to invest, and that is something I didn't really like about dance world.

And in the last year or two, I already started wondering, like, I love dancing, I love competing, but do I really wanna go down that road? So yeah, that's something I don't really like about the competitive dance world.

Um, but there are so many beautiful stuff about it too, so I, I love it.

Is it a sport? Is it an art? What is it?

Yeah, but do you know what? I think that when we're talking about competition dance, I think it is so much more sport focused than when you're talking about dance in the industry, dance as a company, dance as a, like that to me is more of an artistic thing.

level but competition dance is about skills it's about um like the content that you can put into a routine which then i think makes it in alignment with like a gymnastics school routine or a rhythmic gymnastics routine you know it does there's so many parallels between our competition dance that isn't necessarily related to the industry that sits above that that they feed into that's a career

it's its whole world in itself

Give or take and dance, I feel like falls into the same category as gymnastics.

The peak is at a younger age.

We're talking competition dancers.
