On Vancouver Island, members of 19-wing Comox held a ceremony today marking the 86th anniversary of the Battle of Britain.

The service at the Comox Air Force Museum Heritage Air Park honors the Canadians who fought in the battle to defend Britain from the Nazi invasion during the Second World War.

The Battle of Britain was also the first major military campaign fought exclusively in the air.
