Comic Book Men

Everything was...

It's on an episode of Comic Book Men.

Yeah.

That's how I knew that show was kind of staged.

It was obviously a couple months after Rev was born.

And so really how this thing started was Kevin Smith, naturally, I was watching Comic Book Men, and he said that he was just talking.

He's just like, all you really need is a microphone and just like a story to tell.

And so light bulb moment, and I was just like, shit, that's not that hard.

The movie? Hold on.

He appeared on Comic Book Men.

I might have to ask Ming about that whenever we talk to him.

He worked on Spawn for Spawn 30.

So a little bit of backstory on that because I'm about to get in some nerdy shit.

But the whole reason I liked Comic Book Man was because I was a fan of the Tell Him Steve Dave podcast and the Kevin Smith universe.

And that's where all that came from.

Anyway, Ming Chen in that universe, like it's like now that once he got famous from like Comic Book Man, he was always gone.

And he's always taking pictures with like.

you know hot women or whatever and other women and people always like oh yeah he's cheating on his wife so it was always like it's always like a thing like oh he's never home he never sees his kid like the fans are fucking ruthless with that kind of shit but they still do it to him this day yeah he's not involved in like any of that anymore i

know he goes live pretty often i know he's always on tiktok well he

still there was like a huge falling out between like all the anime that's nerdy shit that's neither here nor there

Yeah.

And like having been a fan for so long, then they start doing some of the other stuff like, um, Comic Book Men, which was the, the TV show about his comic book store in New Jersey.

So then Bryan Johnson and Walt Flanagan, who had been in all of his films, but they're not actors.

They're just his mates from Jersey.
