Governor Kevin Stitt has ordered flags flown at half-staff through Friday to honor a federal wildlife officer who died while helping residents evacuate from a wildfire in Comanche County.

Authorities say 38-year-old David Taylor was last heard from Saturday while assisting a family near the Railroad South fire.

According to officials, evidence recovered from a structure indicated that Taylor died during his efforts.
