This is a snub-nosed, high-powered revolver with a six-round cylinder.

That gun was first produced in 1927 and was created to be used as a concealed weapon for plainclothes cops.

Colt Detective Specials have been seen on movie screens since the 1930s, and were used by legends like Edward G. Robinson, James Cagney, Humphrey Bogart, and James Garner.

Bronson also carried a Colt Detective Special in his movies Machine Gun Kelly and The Valachi Papers.

In this era, Colt Detective Specials were used on screen by Sondra Locke in Sudden Impact, John Pankow in To Live and Die in L.A., Mickey Rourke in Year of the Dragon, and Leslie Nielsen in The Naked Gun.

Production of those guns ceased in 1995.
