Charlie and I frequently get approached about acquisitions that don't come close to meeting our tests.

We've found that if you advertise an interest in buying Collies, a lot of people will call hoping to sell you their Cocker Spaniels.

Our interest in new ventures, turnarounds, or auction-like sales can best be expressed by another Goldwinism.

some great setter talks with different canine sea students in the past for sure.

Yeah, it's wonderful because I think there are some breeds that we see a lot of, you know, if you want to find somebody to talk Labrador or Spaniel even, or even, you know, Shepherds and Collies, you can find kind of a decent list of people who have worked with those breeds.

But when you get into some of the the pointers and the setters and some of those kind of less common breeds, it's nice to have people that we can point to to help people talk about those breeds.

I know recently we had somebody in the group chat talking about getting a toller.

If we're looking at our pedigrees, but what I really liked about them was that both parents were doing things like halftime shows for local colleges during like football games and those sorts of things.

So they had really solid environmentals and were able to kind of get out there and perform under pressure in a way that I like seeing with the Border Collie breed in particular.

And I know, Anne, you have had Border Collies at various points in your life.

Yes.

So the chat says it's a collie, like a border collie.

That's not a very tough dog, man.

Border Collie is a great dog, but I'm just saying it's like a mascot for like, I don't know.

Is it Collie? Okay.

I am one half of Deep Breaths with Louie, and that's what we call our... therapy dog work and our therapy dog business.

So Louie is my boy Collie.

He's just about to turn six.

We also have Lola, who's just like right on cue, just like...

Because, like, who doesn't love a dog that has purple hair? Like, it just – people are like, oh, my God, that's so cute.

And then there's a whole story behind it.

And I think if you're – like, we're thinking until the end of the year, but a quick Google will tell you all of the days of the year, so International Dog Day and who – World Border Collie Day and blah, blah, blah.

And so if you have a list, if you just look at a 12-month calendar and have a list of all the different days, one, that helps you with your social media if you want to post about those things in advance.

The biggest crowd at the Mountain Cattlemen's Association's get-together on the weekend was the dog high jump.

But it wasn't just for Kelpies and Collies.

There were a few crowd favourites in the small dog category.

A Basset Hound named Beryl, a King Charles Cavalier and even a Chihuahua.

I think she's part German Shepherd and part some type of cattle dog.

Yeah, Collie or something.

But she's so smart.

Yeah.

I've had Jack Russells.

I've had Labradors, Collies, the lot.

I've had everything from a restricted breed to the local family pet that everyone wants, the usual mutt.

Like, every dog is a good dog, but you've got the ones from backyard breeders that, one in a million is a psychological issue.
