College of Psychic Studies

So part of the initiatory tradition, but also a solitary witch.

I also studied at the College of Psychic Studies in London many years ago doing um, psychic development and mediumship.

Uh, I went there thinking that I had psychic constipation and came out like plugged in and everything was working in all the right ways.

Um, and it, and it's, you know, it's an interesting life, this one that when you're plugged into circuits that often on an everyday basis, people don't always see, or they're not always aware of.

And yet when I did, the writing career that I'd stayed in London because I thought, if I'm going to be a writer, I have to live in London, that only took off when I left London and went home.

So there are things that, you know, you sort of are afraid of things happening.

But if you just let the energy go, when I studied an NLP at one point, Neuro Linguistic Programming, and it was At the same time, I was studying neurolinguistic programming, hypnosis, and going to the College of Psychic Studies.

So I had three levels of energy work going on.

I got some classes coming up.

And I signed myself up because in those days I lived in London, so everything seemed easy.

But I signed up to the College of Psychic Studies and I did a kind of psychic development classes that were for psychic development, mediumship, divination, the whole lot.

It was just, you know, a course that did everything.

And I started with the introduction and thought that's all I was going to do, but ended up signing up each time I finished, I'd sign up for the next level and thought I wasn't, I didn't think I was particularly psychic, but something happened during that process and it just opened up and changed and the information started flowing more easily.

I'm a teacher at the College of Psychic Studies in London, and I have dream courses there.

They are immersive 10-week courses.

So I have a foundational course, intermediate, and advanced course.

And Forrest Bess is really, prime example of that um so he's the one i always talk about and on wednesday so i'm giving a talk at the christine man library um and doing the same one online for folks who are not in new york city at the london college of psychic studies but i always talk about forest best whenever i can because um He dealt with consciousness, embodiment, art, psychology, being up against it, being sort of from the future.

There's a quote at the beginning of the book that comes from T.H. White's The Sword in the Stone, where Merlin's describing having to live in time backwards and how annoying it is that the reason he's a magician is actually because he was born at the front end of time going backwards.

So now he's stuck in the Middle Ages, like knowing about radios and microwaves and feeling frustrated.

But there's a difference between really going into the practice and allowing something to move you and be with it and just, for me, collecting certificates in a way.

I am now an advanced psychic from the College of Psychic Studies, and I've been studying shamanism and all these different tools that I can check off a checkbox.

And then it was honestly only...

Maybe last year, earlier this year that I finally sat down and could say to myself, like, you don't need to learn anymore.
