Credit for the story goes to Julianne Josephson, who also wrote The Egg Crate Wallop, starring Ray and Colleen Moore.

Exhibitors Harold complained that this film was not up to his usual standards and said, "...the comedy is principally confined to the subtitles, which consists of an American Doughboy's poor French translated into English." Burton Orton at the Cody Theater in Eureka, Illinois, said the film drew well in spite of heavy rain.

The success of this film led Ray to invite Anne May to co-star in his next film, the now-lost Peaceful Valley.
