Collective efficacy

Agency is an enormous potential benefit here, an enormous potential prize.

The thing which is most missing from the whole climate question is a sense of collective efficacy.

People basically don't think that they can do this.

And so far, they're kind of right, right? COP has essentially...

failed, the net zero mission in national economies and in business is failing.

We need something different.

If people start to get an actual sense of collective efficacy at the community level or at the regional level or whatever it is, and that can come through adaptation because you can tangibly see the benefits that you're getting from it.

then that can be potentially parlayed into more hopeful political action across the piece, including with regard to mitigation.
