Colfax

So I'm excited to talk about this great top this morning from our colleague, Max Cohen, who's on the road in Iowa covering this huge opportunity Democrats have to potentially flip a seat in a very red state.

Reporting from Colfax, Iowa, Max writes that in the midst of a brutal political environment for Iowa Republicans, Josh Turek is within touching distance of becoming the first Democrat to win a Senate election in the state since 2008.

It's quite a long time.

This was unthinkable really at the start of this cycle.

If you wanna keep a hometown community successful, you gotta have a job where you can actually live in that community.

Great, if you wanna go be a neurosurgeon, we've got great programs here in Iowa to make you a neurosurgeon, but you're probably not gonna go back to, you know, Colfax, Iowa, and be able to operate there.

You're gonna be commuting somewhere.

God bless you.

In the food category, it added items including cake pop, shishito, and chili crisp.

And finally, the city of Colfax flag is flying upside down outside of City Hall.

The city flag is saying the city is in distress.

At the current time, with the legislation that's gone through, we don't have enough money to even sustain what we currently have, let alone continue improvement.

Colfax Mayor David Mast, interviewed by TV partner Local 5 News, says it's due to changes at the statehouse putting the city at risk and is anticipating a $66,000 budget shortfall the next fiscal year.

And that's the latest in news.

Friday's sports update is brought to you by Iowa Cubs baseball, offering plenty of fun for everyone.
