A
50:51Andy HydornHOST
Yeah, so again, like you guys, I think it's really cool that we've launched into our Quiet Please 2.0. And I'm super excited and thankful for our sponsors as well as all the opportunity that we're going to have going forward is incredible.
A
51:10Andy HydornHOST
This stuff since we started doing it has become more real and more real and it was fun when we started but now I almost almost feel a responsibility to this show and and to to see what we've been able to to do the guests that we've had and uh it's just great and uh all all of you gents my friends has has been a the cherry on top as well um one other quick call out cole hammer who's a member of champions um you guys all remember cole from the uh US Open at the Olympic Club when he was 16 years old.
A
51:57Andy HydornHOST
Cole was fighting his ass off to get his PGA Tour card.
A
52:03Andy HydornHOST
And up until the back nine... of the corn fairy tour championship he was inside the 20 and then he just ended up i want to say 22nd but just you can see the way they do the scorecards which is pretty cool you can see as you go through the round how you're projected to finish and the last eight holes he he bounced from the top 20 and and uh It's just rough.

Davis Lamb moved from 23rd to 20th to get that last tour card.
C
46:33Chris SolomonHOST
Cole Hammer and Ben Coles were the two names that were, uh, in the top 20, uh, that fell back on the outside, unfortunately.
T
46:39Todd SchusterHOST
Which not a, not a concern for Coles, 'cause he is inside the top 100 in FedEx.
T
46:45Todd SchusterHOST
I think he's, like, 83rd or something like that.
Bethpage Ryder Cup shame continues, Baycurrent and KFT classics, and Sports minute(s)

Did Lamb goes in.
B
37:28Brendan PorathHOST
Uh, Cole Hammer dropped out this week, and Ben Coles dropped out.
B
37:33Brendan PorathHOST
Coles not even playing is probably g- I think gonna get his card via like PGA.
B
37:38Brendan PorathHOST
He, he, uh, PGA Tour fall, uh, I think he's gonna get a full card and, and via PGA Tour points this year and then in the fall, uh, so it didn't bother.
B
37:49Brendan PorathHOST
But it opened up for Hitt and Lamb to jump in.
B
37:51Brendan PorathHOST
Yudi Saguaro was the first guy out, started the week at 21, ended the week at 21.
B
37:56Brendan PorathHOST
Uh, felt a bit of empathy for sure for Cole Hammer, who, um, shot 73 in the final round, went from 20th to 22nd.
B
38:07Brendan PorathHOST
Um, we've kinda gotten to know...
DP World Tour tells LIV players: It's either us or them!
R
33:39Rex HoggardHOST
Where there was desperation, Rex, where there was urgency, was the Korn Ferry Tour Championship and the 20 players who were going to be promoted to the PGA Tour.
R
33:48Rex HoggardHOST
It was Cole Hammer, who was sort of the hard luck loser in this case, falling out of that top 20, gave a great interview looking ahead.
R
33:56Rex HoggardHOST
Uh, still could potentially earn his PGA Tour card through Q School, but obviously sorely disappointed to miss out.
R
34:02Rex HoggardHOST
A couple of intriguing names, I must admit, who are going to be among these top 20 graduates.
Bad News/Good News: LPGA Q-School Stage is Unplayable and the KFT Class of 2026
M
17:37Mark BaldwinHOST
It all built to that moment for him to perform.
M
17:39Mark BaldwinHOST
And I think it's different than being Cole Hammer or someone like that where you're right on the edge of your tour card, but you just don't have your game.
M
17:49Mark BaldwinHOST
That's a different situation.
M
17:50Mark BaldwinHOST
And I think when you show up to the practice tee and you're flushing it and you've been playing really well for months at a time, it is pressure, but it is a different kind of pressure than like, let's say Q School, where you don't have a job next year, right? Like he's got a job no matter what.
M
18:14Mark BaldwinHOST
And I think he had every belief that he was going to break through and get his, this is called Austin Hitt.
M
18:20Mark BaldwinHOST
break through and get his pga tour card um so yeah there are varying levels of pressure but like you know cole and this is this is speaking of the yin yang and the good and the bad cole hammer makes bogey on like the last hole yesterday to miss his tour car and austin hit obviously wins and moves up he was one of the two players with davis lamb to move into the top 20 and get his tour card but cole hammer and you tweeted about this spoke to the media afterwards probably one of the greater disappointments of his career and good for him for doing that.
M
18:52Mark BaldwinHOST
We can't imagine how difficult it is and how gut wrenching it is to try to be insightful and self reflective or just reflective when you are dealing with that level of disappointment.
R
19:07Ryan FrenchHOST
yeah and i mean the interview was great if you haven't seen it i've uh tweeted about it it's just like yeah he's like i didn't have my game and my putter bailed me out for a long time but it can only hold up for so long and i mean again mark you've been in this situation in different type of things like it must be helpless feeling to like know what's on the line and know you can't pull it out right like the game's just not there so uh and and Cole's been out there for a while and a lot of expectations when he came out he was the number one amateur in the world at the time and like he hasn't lived up to that and and fairly or unfairly and that all hits you as you're coming down line to that point I do want to talk about a round that was bad, but also impressive.

Like, we played the sec- the third round with the, uh, with the American team 'cause we were, like, fourth or, or third, uh- And, uh, I think, you know, their, their team was, like, Colin Morikawa, uh, Justin Hsu, and, like, um, Cole Hammer.
R

I think that makes them feel a little bit less pressure because they're going to pass him with a decent week.
B

And our guy Cole Hammer, fifth year on the Corn Furry Tour, he's number 20.
B

So there's people on the outside that always look at these top college players, and they're playing tour events, and they're away from the program, and I remember Texas a few years ago when the Cooties and Cole Hammer played a tour event between regionals and nationals, and I remember Field saying something like, our job first and foremost is to get these guys on the tour and playing well.
B
8:43Brentley RomineHOST
Is that kind of your, the way you look at Tyler missing the first two events, like you look at it as like your number one job is to get these guys ready and that's just a part of it?

G

Doesn't matter what the vocation is.
G
44:41Gary WilliamsHOST
But if you look at players even beyond that, I look at someone like Cole Hammer who's contributed to this program.
G
44:47Gary WilliamsHOST
He's the Bubble Boy.
G
44:49Gary WilliamsHOST
He is now a married man, and it seems like it wasn't that long ago, uh, that he was 15 playing in a US Open at Chambers Bay and you're going, "Oh, man, uh, he is gonna, he's gonna do it all." Well, he's already done a lot, truth be told.
