Speaker Damoth, come on up.

Speaker Demuth was born in Painesville, Minnesota, and currently resides in Cold Spring, serving as the legislator from District 13A since 2019.

A graduate of Bloomington Kennedy High School, her background prior to public service includes co-owning and managing commercial property, as well as serving 11 years on the Recori School District Board.

Currently serving as the speaker of the Minnesota House of Representatives, she focuses on regulatory, fiscal, and economic initiatives impacting the state's business community.

Now, back on January 13th, 1989, so about nine months before Jacob was taken, there was another abduction that bore eerie similarities to that of Jacob's.

That day in Cold Spring, Minnesota, only about 20 minutes southwest of St. Joseph, 12-year-old Jared Scheierl found himself in a nearly identical situation to Jacob's.

Jared later described that he was walking home from ice skating with his friends and that they stopped to get milkshakes.

Around 9:00 PM, he headed home on foot, thinking that it wasn't too far and he would make it in just a few minutes.

And of course, Jared being a sweet 12-year-old boy, he obliged.

But before Jared even knew what was happening, he was being forced into the car under threat of being shot.

The man drove them to a quiet rural area, and after assaulting him, he drove Jared back to Cold Spring.

The man then dropped him off on the side of the road and told him to run from the car, and that if he looked back, he'd be shot.

Well, it was, it was a root beer, Magillicutty's Root Beer.

It was made in Cold Springs, Minnesota at the Gluck Brewery.

So they were making this root beer to keep going during prohibition, but it came in with the, with the product line.

I had been talking to, I was joking around with, uh, with Mark and Mark Brown, a bunch of them, and I was telling them about back when I was a kid.

She, she's the, the absolute proof of the American dream.
