So what makes you think you're gonna be able to just extract all this extra skill, take th- all these players take a next step when the team has regressed, to say the least, to start, in large part, to start this season? The, the, the notion of skill for me, why extract things that might not even be there, be possible out of certain m- a majority of this roster, especially with a Travis Konecny hurt and out? Especially when I know there's all this talk about toxicity, about obsession.

I know Colby Cohen, Morning Cup of Hockey's talked about it, about Matt Vejmelka of his time on ice.

You, you go on Twitter, you go on X, you go on social media, you're gonna hear about Matt V- Matt Vejmelka's time on ice.

But there, it gets to a point when you've got Jason Martiris, Bill Meltzer, f- team employees, Charlie O'Connor, the more respectable, level-headed beats, talking about why are we-- what are we doing with Vejmelka's deployment, one of if not the most truly raw skilled players on this team? When you've tied the game up prior to this game nine, game eight at home versus Seattle, you don't register a shot for really the back half of the third period after tying it up.

And look, this is really tough timing and it's a little bit cowardice to do this while TK's injured as well.

And you think about the motivation, it's, it's a little bit weird and unclear.

If you wanna move TK, do you wanna ruffle his feathers? Do you wanna go out on not as positive terms for a player who apparently has roots here, who has apparently built a home recently, according to Colby Cohen, Morning Cup of Hockey, also Daily Faceoff.

Um, and Colby, you'll have to remind me if I'm wrong here, but I said the Montreal Canadiens are a feel-good team, that they've done things the right way, they've built the right way, and Colby disagreed.

Uh, I could tell you that the rest of the league does, views them like Colby does right now.

This is why, listen, the first week, you know, some people were talking about, I think it was, um, Johnny Lazarus does the One podcast with Colby Cohen and Colby Cohen was basically like, "Yeah, Lafreniere has basically showed us who he is.

This is literally who he is.

Like he's, he's an average, not consistent player," basically is what he was saying.

But you're gonna need the production.

Like, you know, like, not to s- not to quote Colby Cohen, but, like, I do care more about actual goals than I do about expected goals.

Like, you need to score.

That was kind of like a last second thing, and, you know, shout out to Colby Cohen for making the introduction to me to the EU staff, and brought me down to the locker room after a game.

And I was just in Boston for the weekend for a CCM event.

It's just more so been about, like, the, the compete level or the consistency with him.

I feel like some nights, you know, Colby always loves, Colby Cohen always loves saying, like, "What's this guy's B game?" You know, when he's-
