Coho salmon

So when these salmon come up, the C runs have a tendency of falling.

And so that way, if it hasn't been raining and it's like getting towards October, your A run Coho and all these other things that are coming through, and I don't know how much you love Coho.

The... those fish are going to eventually go up a river and those sea runs will eventually go up, even if it hasn't rained because they have to.

They've got a time clock going and those coho are going to drop eggs and those sea runs are going to

We find out later it all blows up in his face.

But considering how bad Coho was, how messed up is it that that guy wrote it in the sign-in form? He's like, we'll always have Coho, man.

I mean, it must be that guy.

We got a bunch of

Pretty much right about the beginning of the month, as calendar would have it.

And in pretty big schools, schools of Coho and some schools of Kings.

And every day so far during the month has been a little better, a little better, a little better.

So these guys are pretty happy.

Now, from my own personal experience, I know that that's not the case.

Coho show up primarily in full force in September.

But the question, where are all the coho, is still an excellent question.

And I'd like to answer it with a little bit of research and science so you can better understand how these fish migrate and when they are around when you're trying to target them.

But if you know a friend or a lady angler that you think would be interested in this, make sure to grab your spot ASAP.

They will probably be gone by the end of the week.

So back to Coho, craziness.

I think this is one of the funnest fish to target every single year and as the season winds down it's a great way to end your incredible fishing season they fight like crazy they are beautiful to look at and they taste incredible on the grill so really what is there not to love but let's start with their biology because once you understand this the timing of these guys actually stops feeling random and becomes a little bit more predictable.

But, um, I, one thing I want to get to here, um, just based on your, um, having a great trip with some coastal area Chinook fishing.

And I want to get your thoughts basically on, since it is fall time, we're recording this August 30th and let's say, um, coastal Chinook or inland Chinook, fall Chinook coming in, maybe Coho as well.

But, um, How about you just run me through kind of your bait program set up and any tips you have for people out there float fishing or whatever they're doing for Chinook?

I'd say don't be afraid to try new things.

We're out in the open water and it was pretty spectacular.

We got our limit in Chinook, limit in Coho.

So hatchery fish and wilds and then lingcod limit and only got one halibut.

But it was spectacular.

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

No, it's my second favorite.

Coho is my favorite, and then halibut is my second favorite.

I like Chinook, but I just like the coho.
