Cody Pruitt

She told it plain and in order, without any hurry.

A young man named Cody Pruitt, twenty-four, had come up alone the first week of November the year before.

He was grouse hunting and scouting for gun season.

He called his mother from the top of the fire hill around three in the afternoon on a Saturday and told her he'd seen a big buck cross the flowage road and he'd be home Sunday night.

One of the dog handlers had come in for a drink when it was over.

He told Bev his dog took the trail from the truck to the edge of the flowage and then sat down in the mud and started shaking, and he ended up carrying her out, all sixty pounds of her.

Cody's uncle, Gary, still came up almost every weekend.

He parked at the east gate and slept in his truck and walked the woods all day.

From the VinePair Podcast Network, this is The Build Out, and I'm your host, Adam Teeter.

Today on the show we've got Cody Pruitt.

Uh, we're gonna talk a bunch about all of Cody's restaurants, um, focus towards the end on Capitán, but, um, we're gonna start off a little bit Libertine, get into Château Roaille.

So Cody, thank you so much for joining me.
