Cody Ford

Like we talked about this before.

I had a very similar reaction to the Keon Coleman pick that I had to the Cody Ford pick, which was, I think you're misusing him.

I think he's a guard.

And they said, nope, he's a tackle.

I must like it.

They got rid of Cody Ford.

Maybe they're better because of that.

Or, uh, or the owner, Mr.

I think he'll get first crack at it.

And Buffalo also brought in their former draft pick Cody Ford for a tryout on Tuesday.

So we'll see if he ends up getting signed and thrown into the mix with the other depth pieces.

in the Bills' offensive line, but Bowery and Kilgore returning, and also edge rusher Javon Solomon back as well.

I thought Joshua Palmer had the better training camp this season.

And frankly, I think he's the better overall wide receiver.

I know that the bills use that second round pick with Keon Coleman, and they've been talking them up all off season and still trying to get the most out of that draft pick that they spent a couple of years ago, but at what point, and I guess they haven't reached that point yet, but at what point are you just going to decide that it's time to move on from Coleman? Is this something that they're going to try to force in a square peg into a round hole all season? Or is this something where they have a leash on Coleman and they're going to kind of reset expectations after a few games because the way that Palmer performed this offseason and the contract they gave him last year and the expectations that were set for him before an injury-plagued campaign, I'm excited about what Palmer could potentially offer this passing game, especially considering he's not going to be asked to do as much as he was a season ago.

Inserting DJ Moore into that group as wide receiver one pushes everybody down a peg.

Two pretty key components to Buffalo's offense.

Uh, according to the league transactions report, the Bills worked out offensive lineman Cody Ford, a former second round pick of the Bills back in 2019.

Ford had played the last three seasons for Cincinnati at both guard and tackle, and now is a free agent.

So I, I kinda envision ...

That doesn't make me super excited.

Like you lose Cody Ford, so you don't really have a swing tackle now.

You got Mims on one side who he's been hurt a lot.

You got OBJ on the other side.

And we didn't know who the right guard was going to be for the opener.

Was it going to be Lucas Patrick? Were they going to throw Cody Ford in there? Would it maybe even be Dalton Reisner? I mean, that's where we were at this time last year of who's going to be the right guard.

And he ended up playing week one, by the way.

There was a victory.

I think a very relevant part of Scott's career is that that's what he was.

He was kind of a fringe guy who bounced around and used technique to make himself viable in the league and, And he can do that and Hinton and Foster and Freeland can still improve and still not be even let's call it at a 2024 Cody Ford at tackle level.

Ultimately what it's going, I mean, you're in what I call the Cochran zone, shout out to Devin Cochran, where you're just at a point where you would just have to design your game plan and your system to help and mask the weakness of tackle that you'd have.

It's possible with Burrow, with Chase, with Higgins, with Chase Brown, with the strengths across the rest of the line, or the other spots, it'd be possible, but I don't see a world where you're winning games because of a swing tackle.
