Dave RupertHOST
26:48
They're just like, Oh wow.
Dave RupertHOST
26:49
Tokens are being spent and it's amazing, you know? But it's like, I feel like we need to like really like harness this, like, no man, like it's a battle to get it to like pay, do pay attention to the right stuff as we build, you know? Like I think I, you know, I think you were even saying on your CodePen radio about the AI feature y'all just launched.
Dave RupertHOST
27:11
You're like, we had to build a harness to make sure it does the right things and doesn't do bad things.
Dave RupertHOST
27:16
And then we have to keep it focused and make sure it can do all these critical path tasks, right?

Chris CoyierHOST
35:09
I can't remember the details of it.
Dave RupertHOST
35:11
You just... mentioned it last week and then i didn't get it but that's not your fault that's probably okay i do
Chris CoyierHOST
35:17
i think in the discord i did drop a beta link should anybody who's part of the discord want to grab it and it's you know when you bundle up in development a plugin like that and these are installable in cursor and windsurf and anti-gravity and all that stuff as well as vs code um But anyway, what it does for CodePen is you just drop a URL in there and it'll pull a pen down and you can work on it locally and it pushes the stuff back up in all this.
Chris CoyierHOST
35:43
And you can make new pens and whatever.
Varun MayyaHOST
26:18
So we generated a nice little iOS weather app.
Varun MayyaHOST
26:21
Again, we're running all these on CodePen.
Varun MayyaHOST
26:24
But yeah, it's just a very simple weather app.
Varun MayyaHOST
26:27
Next, and I thought this was interesting because it was one of my first projects, when I was learning Ruby on Rails 12, 13 years ago, I want to make a PC builder.

Chris CoyierHOST

Hey, everybody.
Chris CoyierHOST
0:07
Time for another CodePen Radio big show for you this week.
Chris CoyierHOST
0:11
It's all about our brand new CodePen AI feature, which is available to use right now.
Chris CoyierHOST
0:17
If you're a pro subscriber on CodePen, you have access to it.
Chris CoyierHOST
0:20
And might I say, it's very good.
Chris CoyierHOST
0:23
It does a good job of doing AI stuff.
AlexHOST
0:26
getting better.
Chris CoyierHOST
0:27
Yeah, getting better all the time.
Chris CoyierHOST
0:08
Hello, everybody.
Chris CoyierHOST
0:09
Time for another CodePen Radio.
Chris CoyierHOST
0:12
It's Chris, your friend, and Marie, your also friend.
Chris CoyierHOST
0:16
We're both your friends.
MarieHOST
1:45
Oh, most definitely.
MarieHOST
1:46
Yeah.
MarieHOST
1:46
Yes, this has been a feature request since probably the first week I joined CodePen, which was, you know, 85 years ago.
Chris CoyierHOST
1:52
Yeah, I remember it.
Chris OliverHOST
42:16
It is indexed a bunch of the Internet.
Chris OliverHOST
42:19
So for the cool stuff that, or front-end things that I don't actually know how to do, there are examples on CodePen for very similar things, but I don't know what they're like called, so I might not be able to go find a good example of how to do the like diagram SVG generation stuff that we did in Hatchbox and like- That's really painful for me, but I know that with the LLM, I describe what I want, and it's like, "Oh, I've seen this before.
Chris OliverHOST
42:47
Let me go tweak that to, you know, what you're describing," and it can absolutely do that, and it's amazing.
Chris OliverHOST
42:54
If it was actually creative and capable of real thinking, then you could say, like, "Okay, build me a billion-dollar business," and then it could actually, like, find a gap in the market that's worth money, that's expensive, go find the solution for it, start building it, then build a sales team and do marketing and buy ads and whatever.
Chris CoyierHOST
0:00
[gentle music] Hey, everybody.
Chris CoyierHOST
0:08
Time for another CodePen Radio.
Chris CoyierHOST
0:10
We're gonna talk about images a whole bunch, like a super important part of the internet.
MarieHOST
0:15
[chuckles]
MarieHOST
2:01
Sweet.
Chris CoyierHOST
2:01
Beautifully, artistically done page.
Chris CoyierHOST
2:03
Anyway, w- we're talking about images on CodePen specifically, um, because we've touched them a bunch recently, and I think it's interesting.
MarieHOST
2:11
We have.
Chris CoyierHOST
7:28
Yeah.
Chris CoyierHOST
7:29
Uh, "Hey, by the way, can I sell you a CodePen Pro?" [laughs]
Dave RupertHOST
7:33
Yeah, totally.
Chris CoyierHOST
7:35
No, uh-

14 MINS LATER

Dave RupertHOST
21:55
Yeah, yeah.
Chris CoyierHOST
21:56
Like we have...
Chris CoyierHOST
21:57
I'm trying to get it integrated on CodePen.
Chris CoyierHOST
21:58
It's complicated enough that it's not out yet.
Chris CoyierHOST
0:07
Hello, everybody.
Chris CoyierHOST
0:08
It's time for CodePen Radio.
Chris CoyierHOST
0:10
Did
StephenHOST
0:11
that work?
Chris CoyierHOST
1:26
I feel like any pen should just be able to be a website.
Chris CoyierHOST
1:29
A pen is a website, you know? And I know a lot of people, like, they would never dream of this.
Chris CoyierHOST
1:34
They're using CodePen just to play with a little, like, you know, I don't know how the timing of this will work out exactly, but Stephen and I just did a CodePen school, which you should subscribe on YouTube for, of course.
Chris CoyierHOST
1:45
And we were just like playing around with the random function or we play around a lot.
