But you were one of the authors I talked about.

They're just crackling, and I'm gonna share my favorite one from Church Ladies, which is Peach Cobbler, and that is, "My mother's peach cobbler was so good it made God himself cheat on his wife." And then the first line of First Lady Freeman, obviously, "A Proverbs 31 woman is the Beyoncé of evangelicals." How do you approach writing first lines, and when in the writing process do they usually come to you?

So sometimes they just pop up, and I can get a first line, and then it's, okay, I guess I gotta figure out the story for this one.

[laughs] I don't know where that came from.

No.

And so hopefully there's that hook piece, and it also then for me as the writer, it becomes a bit of a blueprint.

My mother made a peach cobbler so good it made God himself cheat on his wife.

Okay.

I am excited because Rise Pies and Cobblers is a relatively new member.

But, um, they were at Centerfest this past, um, month.

telling me.

Cobbler, Peach Cobbler? Peach

Cobbler, homemade ice cream.

Woo! Woo! Life was good.

And the first one I wrote is about all the everything, emotional ups and downs and patience, betrayal, blah, blah, you know, everything.

And the second one is called Peach Cobbler is Not a Fruit.

And it's a bunch of just funny stories about what patients say, what they rationalize, you know, what they do.

And so it's based on humor, but a lot of other things in between.
