In 1971, Virginia, the newly integrated T.C. Williams High School football team must overcome racial tension both inside and outside locker room.

Denzel Washington, you know the guy, plays coach Herman Boone, while Will Patton plays coach Bill Yost.

What begins as two coaches with very different approaches become a story about players learning to trust one another while their community struggled with immigration.

The football becomes a setting for a much larger story about teamwork, prejudice, leadership, and community.

uh also stars freaking ryan gosling

because why not There's some serious nostalgia in seeing actors like Donald Faison and Hayden Panteri this early in their careers.
