[laughs] That's how you should say it, right? And, uh, she still talks like a character from "Clueless," which I, which I, I love that they kept that around.

Yeah.

Which, uh, with each, with passing, you know, re- revisiting the book now in 2026, especially now as a middle-aged man, you're like, "Christ, this character's annoying."

Yeah.

And that feels very much like-

Clueless came out recently

... a grown man trying to write a young girl.

But it's not a Jane Austen novel.

I'll tell you, it's Cher Horowitz says it in Clueless.

Oh, Clueless.

You know when she goes to the party in the valley? Yeah.

And she's supporting Dion emotionally because her boyfriend's shaving his head and she walks out of the party and she says, it's like that book I read in ninth grade that said, "'Tis a far, far better thing doing stuff for other people."

This is a movie that if you were in high school in the late 90s or early 2000s might... just have hit the top spot of your AU high school adaptation romantic comedies.

And considering it was up against the likes of Clueless adapting Jane Austen's Emma, She's All That adapting George Bernard Shaw's Pygmalion, and American Pie adapting the McDonald's menu, that's saying something.

Whether you've seen it or not, you may well know that it adapts William Shakespeare's Taming of the Shrew.

But if you've seen it and liked it, you may not know how closely it cleaves to the original text.

And then Serena mentions, which is very a good point.

She mentions Clueless.

She's like, well, Alicia Silverstone dates her ex-stepbrother and it's totally skeevy and they made it work.

And like, it's just so, but that is true.

Like, I remember the first time I watched Clueless, I was like, wait,

But I feel like the early '90s was still very much transitioning out of the '80s, so you're still gonna see-

Yeah.

And then there was, like, the grunge era for a bit.

But Clueless probably did it the best.
