Clovis point

The obsidian in this region also can help provide a window into the earliest chapters of Yellowstone's human history.

One Clovis Point found near present-day Corwin Springs, just north of the park, was made from obsidian cliff obsidian and dates to around 11,000 years old.

This discovery demonstrates that people were not only present in this region, but they were also recognizing what was useful, very established, and setting things up.

I wanted to talk about Obsidian Cliff because it doesn't get as much love as I feel it should for how important it is.
