But it started last year, and it got much worse this year.

Clover.

I'm getting large patches of clover.

Clover's taking over a big area of the lawn.

Plus, I'm getting areas of bent grass.

like six or eight, maybe even ten areas, patches of bent grass.

So all the rye and everything came up good and it still came up great and the deer were eating it.

Clover, I frost seeded clover on that plot this year in front of the blind and I went and looked at that the other day before I planted it.

It looks amazing.

Clover is my favorite vitalized product.

It is hands down the My favorite.

I love it.

Cause she's going to want to do it, but she's only

four.

Let's jump in, I reckon.

Well, going straight back into the last one we did, talk to me quickly about our little friend Clover that

has

sent me down a horrible, slippery EMS lifestyle.

But

that's boggled my brain.

I didn't realize that about Clover.

Anyway, let's move on to something less depressing.

After cleaning the land in this way, the roots are removed from the land in the winter and used to feed the stock.

By this time, it is too late to sow wheat, so a barley crop is sown the following spring, and with the barley, clover is sown.

Clover is an exception to the rule that crops must get the nitrogen from the soil.

On the roots of clover, and other plants of the same botanical order, such as lucerne, sanfoine, beans, and peas, many small swellings are to be found.

these swellings or nodules as they are usually called are produced by bacteria which possess the power of abstracting free nitrogen from the air and transforming it into combined nitrogen in such a form that the clover or other host plant can feed on it the clover and the bacteria live in symbiosis or in other words in a kind of mutual partnership the host provides the bacteria with a home and allows them to feed on the sugar and other food substances in its juices and they in return manufacture nitrogen for the use of the host.

so that the water stored in the deeper layers of the soil, which have been solidified by the trampling of the sheep, may not be disturbed.

The surface soil turned up by the plow is pulverized by harrowing until a fine seedbed is obtained, and barley is sown early in the spring.

Clover and grass seeds are sown amongst the barley, so that they may take firm root while the barley is growing and ripening.

But there are types of like ground cover clovers.

Clover.

And most people think of clover as a weed, right?

Yeah.

Anyway, I don't, hopefully we've covered some useful stuff there.

But I also, for people who don't know, um, clover.

It does lots of nice things in their diet, and it, and it tends to be one of the, the more consistent forages in terms of non-structural carbohydrate.

Mm-hmm.

Clover is a completely different beast.

And I love adding a little bit of a legume to a Braska, just such a complimentary mix.

And I also think too, like if you're going to do the annual route, you did a really good job because you picked your Braska and your annual mix versus sometimes guys will order this and then they'll, and I try to catch it to order like this in a bag of premium Clover.

And sometimes I'll even call the customer.

I go, Hey, I just want to make sure that premium Clover's a perennial.

Are you going to mix those? And that's fine because, as long as you want that particular plot to stay in perennial clover.

Because if not, you're going to be terminating kind of an expensive crop to grow.
