Cloris Leachman

All right.

Well, that was High Anxiety starring Mel Brooks, Madeline Kahn, Cloris Leachman, Harvey Korman, Ron Carey, Dick Van Patten, Jack Riley, who I brought up, and weirdly enough, Barry Levinson, who also has a writing credit because it was written by Mel Brooks, but also Ron Clark, Rudy DeLuca, and Barry Levinson.

And of course, it was directed by Mel Brooks, who is 100 years old.

That's pretty amazing, honestly.

Despite his attempts to distance himself from his family's notorious legacy by insisting on the pronunciation Frankenstein, Frederick finds himself drawn back into the world of mad science when he inherits his grandfather's castle in Transylvania.

Upon arriving at the Erie estate, Frederick is greeted by a cast of quirky characters, including the hunchbacked Igor, played by Marty Feldman, the alluring lab assistant Inga, played by Terry Garr, and the enigmatic housekeeper Frau Blucher, played by Cloris Leachman.

As Frederick delves into his grandfather's journals, he becomes consumed with the idea of reanimating the dead, leading to the creation of a new monster, played by Peter Boyle.

Brooks' film is a visual delight, shot in stunning black and white, to mimic the look and feel of the original Frankenstein films.

Kurosawa first but then

Kurosawa first but but but yeah I was going to say only Cloris Leachman I can think of at least there's one thing she did better which is The Last Picture Show but she's not more known for that even though

she won the

Academy Award for it and she deserved it that's such a good film Uh, Bogdanovich is awesome.

Allison Janney gets her eighth Emmy.

Ty's Cloris Leachman, Julia Louis-Dreyfus.

Jean Smart gets her eighth Emmy.

Matthew Rhys, him and Jason Bateman earlier made history as the first two actors nominated in all three lead acting categories for each genre.

And so she became the first woman to ever win an acting Emmy for every season of a TV series.

She now has eight acting Emmys, tying the record held by Cloris Leachman and Julia Louis-Dreyfus.

What an amazing club to be joining.

It was, it was, uh, sad, obviously, but, uh, you know, it's funny.

I- I've- I've, you know, coming out here, I've, I've been able to become friends with a lot of people I looked up to growing up, you know? Uh, older folks, Jerry Van Dyke, and Tim Conway, and Cloris Leachman, and Jimmy Buffett, and Jimmy Burrows, and, and it's great to get to know them, and then you gotta say goodbye to them.

And it's, uh, it's, uh, it's, it's, it's pretty cool, but, uh, you know, also sad.

And in the biggest surprise of the night, Allison Janney won Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for The Diplomat, a political thriller that I thoroughly dig on Netflix.

Janney had a record on Emmys Night 2, joining three other truly talented women, Smart, Julie Louis-Dreyfus, and Cloris Leachman as the only people to have won eight acting Emmys.

So, all in all, a great slate of Emmy winners this year.

A mix of recording innovation and talent, and especially on these shows I adore.
