Clocktower Centre

Now, we're not going to be here next week, long weekend, so I'm just going to mention a couple of things that are on.

We have the Temple of Desire, which won awards at the Fringe Festival, and that's at the Clocktower Centre.

It's a bold new work featuring dancers trained in the classical Indian form of Bharatanatyam.

Yeah, I

focused.

But, yeah, so it's a classical Indian form of dance.

And look, the Clocktower Centre in Moonee Ponds is really coming into its own.

It's right in the middle of Moonee Ponds there.

Mr Nation is reported to be appealing his sentence.

The decision by the Council affects prominent locations including the Civic Centre Foyer in Moonee Ponds, the Keilor East Leisure Centre and the Clock Tower Centre.

Council officers reported that no formal protocol previously existed for removing the name of a Mayor or Councillor.

However, officers recommended the action to align with the municipality's commitment to child safety, noting that displaying the name of a convicted abuser could cause psychological harm to victim survivors.

How did that happen?

So the volunteer youth group, this Essendon Theos group, was, uh, we, uh, met in the Essendon Town Hall, and we persuaded the mayor that, uh, these young people that were on the streets, that were quite annoying to most citizens of the area-

... uh, deserved to have a club.

It is, and it has been so amazingly refurbished now.

I remember it in the old days in my hood when it was the Essendon Town Hall.

Uh, that's because I'm a dear old thing.

However, town halls have always, I think, played a very special part in our lives.

And things for performances too.

You had your performance at Geelong West.

Back in my school days, we had our choral comps at the Essendon Town Hall, where you were today.

Mm-hmm.

Uh, coming up after the break...

A- and just to mention the ones that I'm involved with again, um, next Tuesday, uh, at Clocktower Centre, um, at around 11:30, doing a 40-minute talk about my life, all the bits and pieces that you would never have heard of before, sing a couple of songs.

Um, at Keaton Retirement Village in Brighton, the, um, also next week on Thursday, I think it is, and then at Wangaratta Arts Center.
