Clinton Street Theater

You know, the streets belong to the people, so to have this celebratory atmosphere outside the theater and get people excited to come together to watch movies from all over the world, it was always so exciting.

We were at the Clinton Street Theater and then the Hollywood Theater, and now I believe the festival is back at the Clinton Street Theater.

And it was a May event traditionally, so it really marked the end of the dreary Portland season and leading into summer.

So there was a lot of hopefulness and excitement knowing that it was right after that was going to be Pedalpalooza and Bike Summer and all these fun events coming out of the winter cold and the dreary winter of rain.

But when I lived up in the Portland area, I had the opportunity to introduce this movie numerous times.

You know, the Clinton Street Theater or the Joy Cinema in Tigard, Oregon.

And I would always say...

The first thing I would say is welcome to the superhero movie event of the year, if the year was 1968.
