So this led to a significant inquiry with the then Agriculture Minister, Murray Watt.

And Murray ordered an inquiry and the legal firm Clayton Utz in Sydney undertook a review of the regulator to see what was going on there and whether they were operating appropriately within their legislation.

And what they found was interesting.

They concluded that the regulator was too close to industry standards.

Have the way they arrived at them met with their regulatory criteria? Have they met those criteria? Or have they been bending and flexing? It's worrying

when a

law firm says, look, they're very close to industry standards.

It's worrying that they might not put public interest first.
