Governor Ron DeSantis, speaking on the 25th anniversary of the 9-11 terror attack, says to him, the memories of that day are still vivid.

Speaking in Clay County, the governor says it's important not only to remember those killed in New York, Washington, and Pennsylvania that day, but also the first responders and survivors who became ill in the years since 2001.

Actually, more people have died to this day from 9-11 related illnesses than were killed because of the direct actions of the terrorists.

Now, DeSantis issued a proclamation yesterday calling for flags to fly at half staff to mark the 25th anniversary.

Now, what's interesting is there were lightning delays all over the area.

Duval County, St. Johns County, Clay County, a lot of games are at varying points.

There are some games that are literally still at halftime.

Most games have moved into the third or even the fourth quarter, and there are a couple that have already gone final.

1-1 on the season so far would be a big win for them.

Right now we have Oak Leaf up 11 over Fleming Island.

The big battle out there in Clay County.

That game in the third quarter.

It's a three-headed attack.

And from our standpoint here in Jacksonville, boy, Sam Singleton, from right out of Fleming Island High School there in Clay County, what an effort on the season-opening victory against New Mexico State.

You can really say positive things about all three running backs, but, boy, Singleton really stood out.

This is a big-time rivalry game in Clay County, Orange Park.

And with all that being said, I'm going to take Oakleaf.

I think their defense is loaded, and they're going to handle this pretty well.
