Clay County

I get it, 6,000 people in jail.

But Chicago representative, if that's what you want, I'll support it if you say your nei- you know your neighborhood better than I do, but I do not want that in Clay County.

My entire district does not want that." And instead, we just, we, we, we saw that, uh, they met in closed doors, no state's attorneys, no police-

Right

But do you, in listening to Jim Durkin, do you... wash away everything he says or see at least a point in the fact that even this rematch looks different having you on the ticket.

Well, I think this rematch is something very interesting because we're taking the northern part of the state, Chicago, me being a hometown Chicago guy growing up in Portage Park, me living in suburban Palatine and taking the rural areas of Illinois where Darren lives in southeastern Clay County and uniting the party, uniting Illinois and having an executive branch that understands every aspect in all 102 counties of Illinois.

I think that's what Illinois needs, not just somebody that's going to be concentrated on the northern state and, you know, the disinvestment that you've seen in the rural parts of the state.

You know, 74% of Illinois is farming community.

Durkin told the Tribune that the Republican nominee, Darren Bailey, has a, quote, delusional, egomaniacal view of the world.

Bailey voted today in downstate Clay County and pushed back against the endorsement.

Jim Durkin and J.B. Pritzker, they don't give a damn about you and they don't give a damn about anyone in the state of Illinois.

And I'm really angry and frustrated about that.
