So 20th century signet rings are really stopping being about what family you're from and start being about which group you belong to, which I think is just, you know, society and how it's changed.

So class rings, club rings, fraternity signets.

Sororities, that's now kind of where we see a lot of these.

Class rings is interesting.

West Point made the first American one in 1835, and it was a working signet ring.

According to their own records, the ring stone was an engraved seal or signet that you could actually stamp with because at the time people were still sealing their letters.
