Clarksville

Hello and welcome to your True Crime Podcast.

In Clarksville, Pennsylvania, archivist Mildred Becker was found dead at the bottom of the Historical Society Library's basement stairs.

The 1863 borough register she had been tracking was missing, raising questions about her death and the records she worked to protect.

Rain splattered the lens of the local news camera, blurring the battered steps that led to the old Clarksville Historical Society Library.

Shards of police tape whipped in the wind, framing the doorway to the basement like a warning.

A reporter's voice, tense but low, cut against the background of hurried footsteps and mumbled directions from uniformed officers.

Somewhere out of focus, an officer emerged from the basement doorway, face harsh under the ceiling lights, eyes flickering away from the camera's stare.

As the montage faded, the fundamental question hovered in the air.
