With her husband, Clark Strand, she wrote The Way of the Rose, The Radical Path of the Divine Fetton Hidden in the Rosary, which if you have not read that book, you need to definitely read that book as well.

I didn't want to end up always in the back room at a Zen monastery or the back room at the local church, which I always ended up in with my kids and everybody else's kids.

What would it look like if we were all showing up as mothers? And that became a study of science and anthropology and also a return to my own experience of the divine mother, which we've talked about a great deal, and my own need for spiritual mothering and how I'd never experienced it.

My husband and I founded the Way of the Rose community, which is devoted to the mother by any name you want to call her, and is a non-sectarian, non-denominational group where we all get together to pray the rosary together.

But I found that a lot of people had a hard time coming back to the mother just because the mother is such a fraught figure within civilization.

I didn't, you know, I'd been a Zen student.

I had, my husband was a Buddhist teacher.

He left Buddhism.

and went on to expose all the crimes, financial and sexual, the Buddhist teachers.

She was in so much pain.

And I didn't know what to do.

And at one point I left her with my husband and I went to the gym and I'm there and a friend said, how are you? And I just broke down and started crying.

And she said, you've got to go see this psychic guy now.
