So take us kind of through that decision before you really get into working as a young adult.
10:04
I remember I had a friend, Brian Michaleski.
10:07
I would go to his house on occasion and they were living way differently than we were living.
10:13
His dad worked, his mother didn't work.
10:15
He had a bunch of sisters.
10:16
They had a swimming pool in the backyard, caterers coming over.
10:20
I had no idea what a caterer was.

12 MINS LATER

22:22
What's next? Because at some point, you start a family.
4:23
Now, what is your favorite old school marketing trick? Favorite old school marketing trick.
4:33
I don't know if it's old school, um, but it's probably more new school.
4:40
It's to build the landing page.
4:43
If I, if I wanna build a business or a product, I build the landing page as if the product already exists.
4:49
I put a price tag on it, and when a person clicks buy, uh, I just get their first name, last name, and email address, and then tell them they're on a wait list, and then leverage that signal to the, to know whether or not it is worth building.
7:30
[laughs]
7:30
That's the title of the book, and it was written by an entrepreneur by the name of Reginald F. Lewis, um, who was an African American from Baltimore.
7:40
And he's the only person to ever get into Harvard Law School without taking an, the LSAT.
9:04
So jump in there and tell us about that.
9:07
Yeah.
9:07
So I was recruited by Google's Moonshot Factory, also known as Google X. Um, if you guys are familiar with Waymo, um, Google X is where Google creates other companies and spins them out.
9:18
Um, so they brought me in as an executive entrepreneur in residence, um, to help th- you know, think up the next great tech idea.
9:26
Um, and since I've been a software guy/AI, blockchain, um, I leaned in on the AI space.
9:34
And as we all know, in late 2022, ChatGPT had its moment, and that moment was really, uh, an epiphany for me.
9:42
Um, the first time I had an opportunity to touch ChatGPT, and also our own internal equivalent which became Gemini, uh, it became really, really clear to me that this is the ultimate bootstrapping tool for any founder.
14:27
... give me a little bit more information 'cause I'm still a little bit fuzzy.
