And I was really, really into short stories as I was writing the record.

And the other thing that I you know, I'm quite interested in is like, you know, I was reading, um, like Claire Keegan, for example, she's an amazing Irish short story writer.

I was reading her a lot and just the way that the, everything just fits together, you know, every story is distinct, but every story is linked and tells this sort of overarching story.

story about the things that were concerning her at the time, the things that were obsessing her as a writer at the time.

I mean, you're like, "Claire Keegan." I'm like, "Oh my God." [laughs]

Claire Keegan's great, by the way.

I mean, wow.

And it's short, and they're, she's just amazing.

I listened to this book, which is like, you know, I came across, like, as a, a book you could read in a day.

Uh, d- it's Irish, Claire Keegan.

Did you ever read Small Things Like These?

No.

I would recommend Empress of Salt and Fortune.

For a novella, the book I read is called Small Things Like These by Claire Keegan.

She's Irish and it's Irish literature.

And I originally had that under the square as a bird on the cover because the copy that I read had a bird on the cover, not a publisher logo like an actual bird in the cover art.

And then I proceeded to move it over to novella once I realized there was a chicken for the Bantam publisher on the copy of White Fang.

But yeah, not sci-fi or fantasy, but It was very good.

Claire Keegan, she has another novella called Foster.

I haven't read it yet.

just so interesting.

Because I ask because I'm massively a history person and I always wonder is that like what influences my love of interiors? And is that why I love so totally different now? But like Clare Keegan, I've been reading a lot of her recently and I love the way home, the way we live.

It's very connected to like... say, the history of place and what that means.

And it's just really interesting that you've touched on now.

I think it would be so difficult to not know who your father was.

So I just read A Glacier's Guide to Dying by Michelle Porter, which is really good.

And I'm reading Claire Keegan right now.

Of course, it's brilliant.
