I thought Sarah Curtis winning the 100 back, we all unanimously picked that over the defending champion, Claire Curzan.

I thought that, to me, that was the most surprising thing, not that some would pick Sarah Curtis, but the fact that-

We all did

... everyone picked Sarah Curtis over Claire Curzan, who-

I think it's, I think it's recency bias

... is the defending champ.

Which, uh, [laughs] they are just amassing such a stable of backstroke females at, in Charlottesville right now.

I mean, obviously they've got Claire Curzan, they've got Isabelle Stodden, they've got Gretchen if she feels like doing backstroke.

Um, now they've got Phoebe Bacon.

Uh-

Not that Phoebe Bacon is anything less than a superstar.

She is amazing, also just a great human being.

Um, but it's, you know, you still have Regan Smith, you still have Katherine Berkoff, you still have Claire Curzan, Isabelle Stodden, who's just on the rise.

And if she's able to even build off of what she did this year, she's going to be a serious threat, um, not only for the 2027 Worlds, but also for the Olympics in 2028.
