There was a before time as well when there was a lot more diversity in the space.

And you could talk about sites like CitySearch and YellowPages.com being sites that people went to deliberately to answer these kinds of questions.

deliberately? Yeah.

You left the company after two years, and the company was ultimately sold in 1997 for $7 million to Sendent, which is a consumer service company.

And a year and a half later, the company was sold for $50 million to CitySearch Ticketmaster, which is owned by IAC, Barry Diller's interactive corporation.

You made $50,000 from that sale.

I did.

I learned a ton.

Um, so when you see where the evolution is, is people don't realize, like, it started with, like, AssPiles and DogJeeve and CitySearch, and all these things people don't even use that much anymore for local search.

Everything's pretty much Google for the most part, right? And now social media has their own piece of it, which you can't forget about that, but you still need a hybrid.

I still believe in email marketing.

Why'd you leave early?

Um, 'cause I got a good, uh, job at that time at, um, IAC, which was like CitySearch back then.
